If yout Dvd is straight from the store or shop, you need to first decrypt it (DVD Decrypter) then shrink it (DVD2One or DVD Shrink) then write it, (Nero)

    So yes, your missing software.

OK. You need a program called RipIt4Me (.org) to rip the DVD. It uses DVD Decrypter as Jax suggests but overcomes some newer copy protection that DVD Decrypter cannot manage alone. Then run it through DVD Shrink (RipIt4Me can be configured to open this automatically), then burn the output with Nero or similar.

There is a decent guide for RipIt4Me on the site and a good DVDShrink guide at Doom9.org.

Any problems drop a PM my way.
