Hopefully I'm going to be moving into a new home soon and could do with some advice.
At the moment I have a small bedroom tv, dvd player and video recorder.
When we move in I'm going to take these along and have them in the bedroom but for the lounge....well, I'm a little unsure.
I will bdefinitely be getting a 32"/36" tv and will be using Freeview and would like a surround/home cinema set-up.
I don't know whether to get:
Freeview with Hard Disk to record onto
Dvd player and a new Video recorder (although I realise they will be history soon!)
Dvd recorder

Anyone any advice? I don't fancy buying a second video recorder as they will be history soon but don't know if the freeview recorder's are decent or whether to get a dvd recorder and again I know nothing about them either!!! AAARRRRGGGHHHHhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Any advice appreciated

Paolo

Is what you should get.

However, I've got a freeview harddisk recorder and I never record on my DVD recorder since I bought it.

Get Sky+ for the lounge, new boxes are now 80Gb (approx 40 hrs), brilliant gadget.
Next up for me then is a DVD recoder to offload occasion things to.
Not sure about the Freeview Harddrive....if it works in same way as Sky+ and you don't want the additional Sky+ channels then I'd go for that.

Video recorders

Are very hard to come by now.. we had to search round loads of places to find a cheap un.. (i.e. under £30)

You can still get the expensive jobby's.. but as you say.. people are transferring vids to dvd's now
