    A DAVID Worrall double and Rob Davies strike saw Albion reserves come back from two goals down to beat Barnsley 3-2 in their final home game of the season.</p>

    </p>

    Craig Shakespeare's men found themselves 2-0 down three minutes into the second-half at The Hawthorns following Dwayne Mattis' 17th-minute opener and Nathan Joynes' strike. </p>

    </p>

    But Wales Under-21 international Davies pulled one back in the 50th minute and youngster Worrall completed a remarkable fightback with a late brace - notchingin the 82nd and 86th minutes - as the two midfielders orchestrated proceedings.</p>

    </p>

    It ended the second string's five-game wait fora victory.</p>

    Albion started brightly and Michael Nardiello's turn in the box saw the ball break for Stefan Morrison, who fired over from ten yards in the first minute.</p>

    </p>

    Four minutes later, Nardiello was in the action again as he beat right-back Thomas Harban and looked to have won a penaltywhen he went down under the challenge of Ryan Jennings.</p>

    </p>

    But referee Stretton waved away the Baggies' appeals.</p>

    </p>

    Barnsley threatened in the tenth minute when Michael Coulson broke from an Albion free-kick down the left wing.</p>

    </p>

    He picked out Mark Richards in the middle who saw his shot deflected wide.</p>

    </p>

    In the 15th minute, Morrison whipped in a cross from the left and Nardiello came within inches of touching the ball home.</p>

    </p>

    But just two minutes later, Richards flicked-onfor Mattis to chest the ball down 12 yards out and turn and fire into the bottom cornertoput the visitorsahead.</p>

    </p>

    Barnsley went close again in the 19th minute when Jeff Forsyth's slip allowed Coulson to pull the ball back for Richards, who should have doubled the lead from six yards but fired wide of the right-hand post.</p>

    </p>

    The hosts responded through Nardiello, whose ball across goal was almost poked home by Morrison.</p>

    </p>

    But Albionfound themselves 2-0 down in the 48th minutewhen they struggled to clear, allowingJoynes to fire home from 15 yards.</p>

    </p>

    But the Baggies replied just two minutes later when a poor clearance by the Tykes gave Davies the chance to skip past a challenge beforenetting from the edge of the box.</p>

    </p>

    Barnsley should have restored their two-goal advantagein the 50th minute, only for Mattis to head over from Paul Haynes' corner with the goal at his mercy.</p>

    </p>

    But Worrall and Davies were now running the show in the middle of the park and the former's superb crossfield ball gave the latter the chance to cut inside his defender, only to blaze wide.</p>

    </p>

    Davies then returned the complement with aback-heel to set up Worrall - but he shotwide.</p>

    </p>

    A neat move between Worrall, Davies and Nardiello resulted inWorrall shootingjust wide in the 66th minute.</p>

    </p>

    Nardiello thought he had levelled the scores in the 81st minute but saw his header from Worrall's cross ruled out for offside.</p>

    </p>

    However, it was only a temporary reprieve for the visitors.</p>

    Just a minute later, Nardiello threaded Worrall in on goal down the left who chipped the ball over advancingkeeper Letheren and into the net.</p>

    </p>

    And Albion completed a stunning comeback four minutes from time when triallist Scott Phelanbroke swiftly from a Barnsley corner and played Worrall in down the left again.</p>

    </p>

    The Hawthorns new boy kept his cool to smashhomefrom an acute angle.</p>

  2. Hmm, should have thought of looking on the Albion board!

    2-0 lead squandered and Mattis scores but misses a sitter! Oh well, it was only £25k wasted...
