<h3 class="headline">MATTIS ENJOYS WINNING START </h3><div class="lastEditDate" id="lastEditDate">Posted on:Tue 02 Oct 2007</div><div class="articleBody" id="articleBody"> DWAYNE Mattis enjoyed a winning start to his Saddlers' career on Saturday as Richard Money's Men recorded a deserved 1-0 win at high-flying Hartlepool. </p> The 26 year-old joined the club on a month's loan from Championship side Barnsley on Friday and went straight into the side for the trip to Victoria Park. </p> Mattis impressed on his debutwith an all-action display and is looking forward to producing more of the same during his spell at the Banks's tadium.</p> "I played in the reserve game on Wednesday then got a call from the Barnsley manager on Friday to say Walsall were interested and I jumped at the chance," he explained. "Saturday was a brilliant way to start. </p> "I was a bit disappointed in the first half but in the second we started to play a bit more and cause them problems. </p> "The back four were brilliant. I feel settled already and I've only known the lads a few days."</p> After helping The Saddlers' secure that 1-0 win at Hartlepool, Mattis explained that teh team will go to Doncaster tonight in confident mood.</p> "There's no easy games in this league but we have come to Hartlepool and got a result so there's no reason why we can't do the same at Doncaster," he added. "They will be looking to get in the play-offs this season so we have just got to go there and do the same again."</p></div>
