Very thin squad wise especially in midfield. Hope we've got a good budget

Weak on strength in depth but the starting 11 should be strong enough for a top two finish if they still fit.

 

Jimbo has gone and from what I've heard Mellis has gone too (how will we cope without him).

 

Saw O'Brien in Hoyland last week. Whether that means owt I don't know. Has he definitely gone?

 

I don't think anything official has been announced, but I seem to remember that O'Brien had pretty much said he was leaving on Twitter?

I still think we perhaps need another 4 players. Depends on how he think the young lads are going to cope, ie James Bree. Either way we need at least another right back, left back and CM.

 

David Preece tweeted a photo of himself with Jim last week. Someone replied saying they were gutted he's left. Preece responded by saying Jim is gutted too.

 

All a bit dodgy to me. Wish club would pull their finger out on who's going or staying. Not biggest fan of Jim but I appreciate his loyalty and effort over last few years. Something needs sorting. Not least the fact that we need a replacement for him. Good wingers are hard to come by.

 

Ben Mansford said week before last on Radio Sheffield that JOB had left. It's on an Audioboo.

 

They have. Ben Mansford gave a long interview on it about a week ago. Dawson and O'Brien have turned down the contract offers, Cywka's was withdrawn.
Dawson and O'Brien expected the club to negotiate, but the club wouldn't, stating that was as high as they would go, so they've both said no. BFC didn't hear anything from Cywka, so they withdrew the contract offer.

The offer to Mellis is still on the table, as if we withdraw it he can leave for free. If it's still open we are due compensation should he go. Sounds like he'll be on a week to week contract now his old one has run out.

But then again, neither is Hemmings.

 

Fair enough. So now we need a right winger, a left back, a right bac and att least 1 central midfielder. Busy, busy!
