What a brilliant start to our away games. Three games played, only 1 goal conceded and that was a penalty. That kind of away form is just unheard of for us. Since we've been back in this division our away form has been utter gash. It's early days yet, but it looks like we've finally found a system that can work away from home. And we've done it straight from the off. Massive praise to the manager for that.

Obviously, the home form has been ****, but I'm not too worried about defeats to 'Boro and Southampton. They're both good sides and we just happened to to come up against them in our first two home games. I never expected us to go through the season undefeated at home.

What is a massive worry is the amount of goals we've scored and the number of chances we're creating. We've played 6 games and failed to score in 4 of them. In one of the two games we notched it was put in by the opposition in a game where we didn't manage a single shot on target. Our players have only managed to score in one game out of six. That is a worry. And it's not like we're creating chances and missing them. Reading apart, we're barely showing any attacking threat in the entire 90 minutes. Looking at the stats after each game we seem to be averaging just 1 or 2 shots on goal per game.

Being hard to beat away from home is obviously a massive plus and very welcomed, but unless we start causing the opposition some problems at their end we're going to finish the season having scored in the region of 25 goals and that isn't going to be nearly enough.

We definitely need to see some attacking ambition in the next home game.

Totally agree and Hill in his interview more or less said we need to be more accurate with our passing and pose more of a threat to the opposition. I didn't go yesterday but it sounds as though the work rate and commitment from the lads was 100% Can't ask more than that.

Jay that is a very good point and a very fair criticism of the games so far. I'm pretty sure Hill knows it too and will look to change the way he sets us out at home. He's still learning about his players, the division and the opposition and so far its been ok - very poor at home but great away. I'd have taken five points from the games so far but as good as things are away we must be more attack minded at home starting with Leicester.

Yep agree - And so does Hill i think. Like you say he did mention we need to be better when attacking and quicker. Said its something we will work over next couple of weeks!

The departure of Haynes - if it happens - will not help. Good post Jay.

    Fair summary

5 points at the end of August - most of us would have taken that from the fixtures we had

Away form I am very happy with - seen the games at Reading where we definitely looked like scoring and the game at Millwall where until Haynes and Obrien came on we didnt look even remotely like we would.

Yesterday we really missed Davis and Haynes - Keeping Haynes for the next 3 days must be a priority as you need attackers with pace.

I think though that with those 2 fit and a defensive system that works away we will create enough chances on the break to nick quite a few points and could easily have out best away points total since we returned to the championship.

Home form is more of a worry for me though - I dont think we have found a system that works at home yet - and I think Leicester will probably beat us next up as well - leading to a cycle of pressure from the fans and lack of confidence from the players that may be hard to break At the moment we seem to be better soaking up pressure and hitting sides on the break - that wont work at Oakwell something Hill needs to fix sooner rather than later

If we can crack that we will be fine - if we dont sort it soon we might be in some trouble

Good post and i have to say - I wish we didn't have Leicester up next!! Hate to think about crowd reaction if we concede an early goal! But with amount of funds they have thrown at it, its got to be good odds to happen!!

The last two results will have given the fans a lift after two home games that were shocking. Get at them from the first whistle and lift the crowd and I think a point is the least well get.

    Re: Fair summary

Our biggest problem has been our defence - he knew that and has looked at fixing it. We now have a platform to build on - we've got more of a chance if nicking games 1-0 rather than losing 3-1
