Lets see..... I get home (tarn) about 4-5 times a year inc christmas these days so on average about 8 or 9 games a season. When i was still single and posted in england and wales i came home every weekend and went to most home and away games for about 6-7 years, bearing in mind i've been in the raf 17 years and 9 of them in scotland, 2 in germany. When i didn't drive to the games myself or with mates i used to go with the dove regularly for away matches, why do you ask pal? (chinny)
now germany...that was a place! europe on your doorstep! it was just a shame i had to come back early due to promotion cos i loved it out there! :'( (Y)
RE: now germany...that was a place! What do you do in the RAF mate? Are you a pilot? Aeroplanes and the forces have always fascinated me. I was going to join the RAF, but then got into IT. Yeah...a different kind of DEFCON.
RE: now germany...that was a place! My older sisters were born in Germany and spent the first few years of their life there. A very clean and well run country.
Airframe/Propulsion technician on Tornado F3's. Basically my job includes aircraft structure, flying controls, cabin air conditioning, environmental control (tapping hot air off the engines to cool it for the crew and systems), hydraulics and recently gas turbine engines and starters. It's a really interesting job, it's just a shame the raf is going down the pan due to massive defence cuts, have to make a silk purse out of a sows ear these days under this government,w@nkers!!
I must agree, and the discipline whilst driving on the roads over there is a testament to this, not like the wacky races you get everyday in britain!
Krefeld was where they were born. Looks a really nice place and I don't hear a bad word said about it. Not one of the first places you think of when you think of Germany.
Yeah my sisters have a different dad and their dad was in the British army there in the early 70s. They were about 4 and 6 before everyone moved back here. I sometimes refer to them as Germans to wind them up
