Proud as **** of them, someone made a great point on the radio. At least they will be genuine Wigan fans, unlike us who took 23k hangers on to have a nice day out.

Wigan only has a population of 80k so for them to get as many fans as they do is a job well done.

Playing the match at 5.30 doesn't help either, the last train back up to Wigan leaves at just after 8 I believe so would be a bit of rush to get back.

Why are people so against fans who only go to an odd couple of matches? If it doesn't stop you from getting a ticket then so what? Out of those '23k hangers on' if only 1% of them became permanent fans after watching us for potentially the first time then it's still more money for the club. Even if none of them ever go again at least we made the money that once and made the players feel better about playing for a big crowd. I bet loads of people (who may have eventually ended up becoming season ticket holders) are put off about going because of the stick they are given on here. Everyone has to go their first match at some point and it makes more sense they would go to a high profile one the first time, they're hardly going to pick a boring game are they? How do you expect our ST numbers to increase if people aren't allowed to go watch us without getting stick for it?

    No not at all .
If Wigan were in our situation they would probably have the same fan base as ourselves as it is they are a premiere league club who can't fill Wembley even with hangers on whereas we were a championship team who filled wembley with our hangers on . Having said that don't let me hinder you in the lambasting of our club or the Don.

Where did i mention The Don!. I would have preferred to have gone to Wembley with 10k all sat together making an atmosphere though, rather than 33k interspersed with people having picnics.

A slightly strange opinion. I think it's great that a club who play in front of 10k every week can get 35k for the big games, it shows the potential.

Potential of what? In case they get in the premiere league ? Oh wait a minute;)
I'd give our fan base a run for their money against theirs in the same leagues of course
