Saying it dangerous to have a referendum on Euope for Gods sake, in saying so he apparently is arrogant enough to suggest that his opinion is far more important than about 65 million other people in the UK. Just about every time he opens his mouth he makes a complete fool of himself. A shame really that Labour has this muppet as a leader as in any other normal time they would be leading the stats by about 10%. Sorry guys, doesn't affect me but you people deserve better. To put the icing on the cake they have of all people Blair giving Ed support, talking about shooting yourself in the foot; this is just political suicide. Cameron must be smiling like the Cheshire Cat right now.
i agree.....picked the wrong miliband. However I don't care who gets in cos none of em will come knocking on my door promising me a better life once they have got in. Liars one and all......I don't want the tories, but i would love to see the back of Mester Houghton and all his cronies on the council....can't win so I won't bother. Labour will get in anyway in tarn whether i vote for em or not. proportional representation for me but currently whats the point?
65 million?? Really? So that's the entire population of the UK plus around another 850,000, yeah?? All opposed to staying in Europe, right? I just wanted to be clear. I'd actually like Britain to stay in Europe, so you might want to edit your post to 64,999,999 in case anyone gets confused.
He's not said that, has he? He's said that by holding a referendum that there's a risk the market responds negatively which in turn, even before anyone goes to the polling station, could cause problems. Do you live in Dubai by the way?
Sorry Micky I seemingly got 65 million wrong by less than a million on your count, but it was after all an estimate, next time I'll try to be more exact. The point was as you probably know, I think that to call it dangerous to have a poll on it suggests that he thinks there is a good chance the people of Britain will vote to go out of the European Union which happens to go against his own opinion, so he knows best apparently by calling it dangerous. I myself voted against it many years ago but I never called it dangerous.
But his wording is that it brings danger to the market, not to people. The question should be is 'are people really that arsed about Europe to risk any market sensitivity that could in turn put your mortgage prices up and cause other economic issues?' You'd get 65 million responses on that.
I can't speak for anyone else, but given the choice between faceless millionaire politicians with their snouts in the trough making decisions that affect my life (usually negatively), does it matter whether they are in Brussels or London? Both sets are only in it for themselves, but at least the Euro lot might sort out the trains...
No, he actually said it was dangerous with no reference to the market, unless sky news somehow changed it electronically. In any case I was never in favour of joining as in a free market environment there are more opportunities IMO.
Right - so what do you think he's referring to as 'dangerous'? Giving people a vote on an issue 4 weeks before he's begging them to go out and vote? Isn't there more competition in a free market environment, too? So in turn more risk?
Agreed that we are all entitled to our opinion but in an election year when you are fighting for your own political future let alone getting your party into power then I think it unusual. But that's just me and my opinion. I take your point tho
CBI - interested in keeping costs low through low wages which is what corporations are doing quite nicely via free movement in the EU. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Given that a very many people (the majority) will cast a vote with very little real understanding of the potential consequences, then I tend to agree with him.
