10 goals in 52 championship games and our website refer to him has "productive". how about getting rossi on loan for a season. He's had two seasons of poor goalscoring in the championship. so what makes ritchie think it will be 3rd time lucky ?
coventry were cr+p the year he played as were crewe last year-in a half decent side he could do well-trust Ritchie
Another young un to add to all the other young uns.......No thanks !!! We need proven goal scorers i.e. Shipperley, Horsefield etc etc etc We don't need anymore kids, we already have a cart load of um.......unless of course they are something special Reading between the lines, I don't think Eddie Johnson is that special Shep said summert abit strange when he were darn at Darfield Cricket Club "Andy seems to prefer working with younger players" Well Andy, this can't continue, we need experience in this league or we are likely to me thumped good and hard
Make your mind up - your last post was to say Nicky Butt wasn't good enough. Experienced international who Pele chose for his world cup team at the last world cup. Some people just moan at anything anyone does.
So you want someone better than Nicky Butt... who no-one else wants, who's experienced at the highest level, possibly an interntional (but with a decent national team, not a second-rate one) but not too old, and will settle for low championship wages. That's not too much to ask then.
i expect that andy ritchie has links at Man Utd and has a lot more knowledge than we do i also suspect that he is a football manager and we are not and i also suspect that Danny Nardiello only scored 8 goals in 42 games yet he is considered byy most fans the best striker at the club, work that one out if we're going for facts and figures.</p>
Johnson steers U20s to victory Chopra was man of the match, but Johnson scored two... Johnson steers U20s to victory Manchester United's Eddie Johnson scored goals either side of half-time to hand the England Under-20s a morale boosting victory ahead of the forthcoming World Youth Championships... Johnson's understanding with Michael Chopra up front was the highlight of England's night. However it was Wales that started the stronger team, regularly finding space on the right through striker Adam Birchall, and England found it difficult to gain any sustained possession. Their first serious attempt on goal came with a quarter of an hour gone. Birmingham City's Darren Carter played a neat one-two with Michael Chopra on the edge of the box but his low shot was comfortably saved by Gareth Williams. Chopra was again involved on the half-hour mark. Manchester United's David Fox threaded the ball through and the Newcastle United turned neatly but saw his low shot miss the far post by inches. The breakthrough came just before half-time. The Welsh keeper Williams came out of his penalty area to deal with a long-clearance out of the English defence but sliced his kick horribly. Eddie Johnson was on hand to guide a well-controlled shot into the empty net. England's confidence was clearly boosted, and two minutes later they almost doubled their lead. James Milner, whose clever skills tormented the Welsh full-backs all night, flicked on to send Chopra through on goal but his shot was saved by the onrushing Williams with his feet. After the break England controlled the match completely and settled the result on 51 minutes. Man-of-the-match Chopra danced his way clear on the left and unselfishly centred for Johnson to slide the ball home. Game over. England coach Les Reed could not have asked for a better performance to see his squad off to the United Arab Emirates, where they we meet Japan, Egypt and Colombia in a tricky first round group. Reed said: "I'm very pleased with tonight. It was a good test for us against a Welsh team who made it difficult and defended well. We had to be patient and play our way through and that's exactly what we did. "Johnson and Chopra showed excellent workrate and teamwork up front. They are a great partnership and complement each other. Now we have to show what we can do at the World Championship."

I seem to remember Chopra getting the same stick that's being dished out now. I can't remember Chopra playing last year and look were we ended up. And another thing, Ashley Ward great with us and crap everywhere else. Give the bloke a chance.
RE: 'Kid's win you nothing' Alan Hansen when Man Utd lost opening game to Aston Villa. Man Utd went on to win the league that season.
Oh but we're not signing Gerrard and Terry !!!! I don't think even they'd be given a chance by some folk on here. 96/97 made five signings mainly unknown look what happened. Before that Arjan de WHO ?? aye e were crap n all !!!
