I know its probably been talked about on here but jesus - that poor lad. Its horrific. Just been having a look on youtube. His bone actually comes through his sock. Can't see it - but I hope he fully recovers. He'll be bloody lucky if he does.

    RE: Awful

Just watched that David Busst injury on Youtube. Cant quite work out what happens, but Schmeichel's reaction tells the story.

I have it on video somewhere

There's a feature on it, he's sat in his hospital bed with hundreds of cards surrounding him from footballers.

A terrible injury but players have, and do recover from compound fractures. Todays surgeons are much better at repairing this type of damage than they were in the past. Didn't the Dutch lad, whos name escapes me, Von Hoy something, have a similar injury at Celtic and he recovered to go on to play for Barca. I hope the lad can return and get back to his previous standard. Lets just hope his career isn't over.

yeh looks terrible. But surely it should not be too much more difficult to heal than a normal break? the only danger with it perferating the skin is of infection? that could be disasterous. there are good surgeons out there, hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Feel bad for Taylor too, it doesn't look to me like there was any malice at all.

Hes in the best hands - Arsenal will get the best surgeons/rehab people there is. Apparently hes been moved to a London hospital. Says he can't remember much about the tackle - just that he looked at his leg and it was the wrong way round - the rest is a blur. Funny how the mind shuts of when summat bad like that happens. Same happened to my boyfriend - fell off his bmx and smashed his face in - he can't remember a thing. First thing he remembers is being in the hospital.

Thank you that's the lad I was thinking about.

His injury was just as bad. Problem with this type of injury in the potential for infection.

    Derick Dooley springs to mind.

I'm sure one of the nurses who come on here can put us right!

Its fine - still an ugly bugger! He was dead lucky to be honest. It looked horrific for a couple of weeks but it turned out to be just grazing. Hes got a little scar above his top lip and a funny lump inside his mouth where his teeth smashed into his gum but apart from that hes fine.

Its brother who likes smashing his teeth out. He did it recently - 3rd time now. He was trying grind a rail outside the alhambra. Doctors spent 45 minutes picking bits of shattered teeth from his gums.

the two biggest problems for edurado

infection aside. The location of the break i.e ankle could make it a slower recovery as he rebuilds strength. And the mental side will he be backing out of challenges for the rest of his career? ala sheron
