Hi everyone. Long time fan and reader of the bullitin board. Not really sure why its taken me so long to join, but here now. Does anyone know why weve only given Hammill a contract until the end of the season? Given his obvious ability and IMO good performances, this seems like a poor desicion by the club given the fact that someone in the championship will double his wages next season and we'll be left with Harris down the left.
Haven't we only got him until January? I think at the time of signing him that's the only deal we could get over the line. So a bit like agreeing to the release clause, it was either that deal or no deal.
Welcome to the board I suppose it could be a number of things. Either that's all he wanted to sign, or we only offered him a short deal because we wanted to make sure he was fit enough, or over his personal issues. Think its only while January isn't it? Either way, it's time we tied him down to a longer contract. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Welcome mate. I think he's definitely a priority to tie down until at least the end of the season and beyond if possible
I got the impression it was quite a rushed signing and I suppose a deal until January made sense for both parties. Says a lot that he's now our most dangerous and possibly important player, certainly going forward. A longer deal is imperative but I'd me amazed if we could tie him down for longer than the rest of the season. Depsite his apparent affection for BFC if bigger clubs want him, the way we are at present he'll no doubt be gone.
