    Aye me n'all, that was brilliant. He was a wee bit rusty, looked like he forgot the lines a couple of times, but still oozed class.

    Can anyone shed any light on why it's taken him this long to get back round to playing live and (hopefully) touring (as ELO)?

    Lots of wrangling with other members of the band, lawsuits a plenty, that's why it's Jeff Lynne's ELO. He's a very subdued Man, doesn't like the limelight. Was dopey for a couple of songs, but hey 28 years since he did a full concert, looked very nervous.

    Ah right, the usual b*llocks, I know there's been a band touring as ELO in the past that he wasn't in, however I'd just assumed this was because he wasn't fussed, so was happy for them to use the name. Let's face it, he is ELO, so how anyone could have dobbied him on the overall rights etc heaven only knows.

    You're right about him being nervous, he seemed terrified to begin with, however you could see he warmed to it, and he was flying by the end. Let's hope this has given him the appetite back.

    Bev Bevan the original drummer, is the other founder member. Tours as The ELO Experience, we' re booked in to see them next May in York. But as you say, with any group, the singer makes it.
    UB40 have split and the singer Ali Campbell isn't with them. His brother Robin sings, and he's awful. But you can see Ali Campbell's UB40 so go figure.
