It's got the point where the vast majority of emails I receive are just spam- adverts for things I don't want or need, circulars and general ****. My galaxy tab will tell me that I have forty-odd new emails, I probably won't bother looking unless I am expecting something. What is the answer to this? Is there a quick way to resolve the spam?

    Dont.

You are confirming the email address as active.

You actually don't have an option. If its this bad it will never change. Your email address is out their. Being sold/swapping hands.

The only way this will slow down or stop is if the source of spam is eradicated. Nowt you can do.

Your only real option is to start with a new email address. And be careful where you put it.
