I welcome Eric Ilsleys stance on the FA in relation to the Morgan / Hume football incident. My concerns relate to the views expressed by BBC Radio Sheffield after Barnsley FC had said they were looking to take legal action regarding this case. Surely if an organisation says that they are looking into taking legal action the views of the BBC (Radio Sheffield, Football Heaven) should respect this as a potential court case and not comment in favour of the defendant e.g. comments such as "in no way does Chris Morgan need taking to court" and "the 'tackle' was not malicous" . These comments along with many more were expressed by BBC commentators on the 10th and 12th of November. I along with many others beleive that the comments by the BBC at this time were intended to sway public opinion in favour of a defendant in the event that the incident was taken to court. What is your views on BBC commentators expressing opinions such as these when they know there is likelihood of legal action?
RE: Very good mate.......yes I've complained to the BBC and I would like others to do the same In my opinion justice for Ian Hume includes an apology from the BBC that comments made by the BBC after it was revealed that Barnsley FC and Ian Hume were looking at taking legal action were out of order and against BBC guidelines.
I made an official complaint to the BBC (not just radio sheffield) With regards their whole presenting over the course of the last month, referencing several key points and dates and am waiting for a reply.
