Not the best time to be a barnsley fan but after watching them for 48years I cannot change my support for Barnsley Football Club and will continue to support the club. However even I could not faces return to the bad old days of the Jim Illey,
John Mc Severny etc days. I think lee J is a nice enough bloke but cannot change things round and a change in management is needed soon. I would give Burton and Heckingbottom a run to see how thinks pan out and see how it goes. Lj has been given more time than Dw and Flicker but results under Lj are infact worse. We need am experienced manager who does not follow the same tippy tippy, diamond formation stuff but plays to the strengths of the players with a cross section of experienced and up and coming players. As for the owners directors etc Barnsley fc is becoming above either give the club your all or sell to someone who wants to move the club on.

Agree and I was there in those dark days but we did not have the stadium we have now. Some of those Division 2 sides coming and playing in a Stadium they can only dream of will only raise their game. I fear though it will have no atmosphere as crowds will probably drop to 6000 - we are going down unless something is dramatically changed........what I just don't know.

To make thing's worse, the defeats have been to teams near the bottom of the league. Over the last few seasons we have had to watch some dross. Like the season we drew at Huddersfield to stay up and I can remember going to some games in the winter months when sitting on the stand wishing i was somewhere else
To the relegation season when we all knew in our heart of hearts that Danny wasn't going to keep us up because we only signed castoffs or loan players Then the season when Danny was sacked and a legend at Oakwell rode into the sunset. But this season seems to be the mother of all disappointment. If we don't turn things round and soon we shall find ourselves in league two and after 50years of supporting the reds I'll be back to where it all started. Oh for another Eric Winstanley,Ronnie Glavin,Mick McCarthy,Ian Banks,Craig Hignett, Neil Redfearn orJohn Hendry to turn the tide back in our favour.
