I promised this one for tomorrow but I have a cracking one to replace tomorrow and Thursday is for dragon So... Porkpies hot or cold I have mine hot with mushy peas and gravy. Where's the best and do anywhere do any random flavours to watch out for ?
Hot with mushy peas. Cold with sandwiches or on a buffet. I love a good pork pie. Speed's in Monk Bretton are good. Anyone got any other recommendations?
Mrs Wilkojohnson makes her own pork pies - they are so good that the grandkids prefer them to a birthday cake - honest
There is a butchers in Masham North Yorks. They do a lovely pork pie, they also do some varieties, like Pork and Apple, Pork pie with brown sauce instead of jelly, Pork and Black Pudding pie. At Christmas the do a Pork and Cranberry, it is a pork pie without a crust and fresh cranberries baked on top and then glazed, superb !!
The shop in Jump is the best I have ever tasted, dunno what the shop is called, but they're ******* ace.
No batch just a huge pie in the shape of a b'day cake - best pig pie I've ever had (Albert Hirst eat yer art art)
Turners butchers at Jump. People come from all over for their pies. He bakes over 1000 at Christmas Eat when warm and the juice runs down your chin
Percys straight from the oven, nothing comes close 65p each, set 15 mins aside to queue for them ......then go back a week later for twice as many
There's no charge save for the cost of the pigs trotters (these are scarce and needed for the gelatine)
Although I ain't been yet, was told recently that Browns butchers up Mapplewell are best. Suppose to be a pork specialist butcher.
Never had a Percy Turners pork pie but they were the only ones my dad would eat, eat them warm with jelly melted
