How does this bloke get to play for England? It's just not right.

I hope this post is put back to the top to mock me come 5.00, but after 10 years of waiting for him to become a striker I'm not holding my breath. And he was shocking in the pre-season game.

Who would you have played - out of what we have? Just out of curiosity.

Horses for courses n' all that, I'd have played Heskey. Without Rooney, they're all much of a muchness. Owen plays better with a target man type, Crouch suspended, you're left with Heskey/Kevin Davies/Ashton, and Ashton's not fit.

Heskey'll never be a world class player, or goalscorer, but he may be the best option today.

    And thats the problem

I cant bring myself to have a go at McClaren for that because there isnt an obviously better alternative. Our national team is suffering big time thanks to Sky giving the Premiership sides the money to sign international quality players instead of having to develop their own

    He He!

he did OK today but I don't think any better. Missed two good chances in the 1st half, and the opposition was very poor. But like McLaren said, he was brought in to cause them physical problems and he did, so credit to both player and manager.

Lets not get carried away though eh?!
