    In your quick reply box, there is an icon in the top middle with a smiley face. Click on that and there are quite a few.

    That's before you click reply. After you've clicked on post quick reply there's a bar above where you type (where you link pics and videos), there's a smiley face there you can click on to choose an emoticon. :D
