ok, I was with People's energy for both Gas and Electricity when they went bust last October and have been moved to British Gas since then, my new BG tariff runs out in June 2022, initially I was wondering if I was on a poor tariff, but I just went online and looked at what Scottish Power were offering now and its a lot more expensive again.
So, has anyone changed in the last couple of months? What tariff did you get?

    My current British Gas is:

    GAS: 3.983p per kWh
    26p per day standing charge

    ELECTRIC is:
    20.076p per kWh
    26.825p per day

Like I say this runs out in June, I'm now worried it might actually go a lot higher then. Scottish Power are quoting GAS: 8.27p per kWh 26p standing charge and ELECTRIC:28.49p per kWh 26.82p standing charge.

Do some star jumps and cuddle your pet hamster, you'll not need gas.

We've just had a letter through asking for £220 a month. Laura has talked them down to £190. We can't have it any lower as we're on minimum tariff.

I went from Green Energy to Shell, after the former went bust.

As I understand it all advice at the moment is to stay on the variable rate tariff. I only have electric anyway, as my flat is not served with gas beyond the lower floors. I have economy 7, so I have my hot water heating up at night.

Unit rate per kWh: Day - 25.059p

    Night - 10.500p

    Standing charge: 26.91p per day

Going to review when the price hikes come.

My fixed tariff runs out today.

Current advice is to not sign up to any fixed tariffs, they are all more expensive than the current standard variable rate.

The standard variable rate cap is due to increase in April by 51% and potentially another 20% on top of that in October though so advice may change.

I'm on 3p KwH gas and 17p electric with Ovo, both with 25p a day standing charge. This runs until August thankfully as their current prices are triple for gas and double for electric per Kwh, albeit they do throw in a furry exothermic chinchilla to cuddle.

We were with Green Energy who went bust last September and are now with Shell Energy. Our account still doesn't show the credit we had with Green and under our Shell login we can't even see the costs of our Tariff (flexible 6). We have absolutely no idea what we will be charged and we I don't think can we look for an alternate supplier till it's all sorted out. I suspect we're going to get shafted.

Was with green network energy who went bust. Transferred to EDF and stuck myself straight on a fixed (yeah I know too late and didn't think about the variable) so this is what I'm paying.....

    Gas
    3.905 per kWh
    22.97 daily charge

    Electric
    19.47 per kWh
    23.6û daily charge.

However, it is now fixed until September 2024.... So if prices are going through the roof over next couple of years I might just benefit

As stated in my reply above, we are the same as you, being former Green customers. Where did you get the info about the tariff? Are you on "flexible 6"?

Thats a good tariff and you only have to hope that ovo don't go under. I was on a great fixed tariiff with pure planet until next Jan, but got moved to Shell variable rate.

Was with avro who went bust. Put with octopus who’ve not told me exactly what plan I’m
on (assume standard variable) but have told me I had a £150 credit, as I cancelled my direct I’m probably building up quite a debt right now…

im planning on playing dumb for another couple of months at least

The things the BBS make you check. I really had no idea what rate I was on with Bulb, who are in special administration since pre-Christmas, but seems in line with others thankfully.

    Gas
    3.98 per kWh
    26.11 daily charge

    Electric
    20.07 per kWh
    26.81 daily charge.

    Electric:
    18.30 + 19.02 daily

    Gas:
    3.60 + 18.36 daily

Think we’re fixed for another 9 months ish.

Similar situation here. Mine runs out later this month and I'm following the advice to not switch at the moment to get the protection of the current price cap.

I expect this advice to change as we approach the price cap change in April, so anticipate that at some point between now and then, there'll be a suggestion to sign up to fixed tariffs once again. There might then come a time when exiting this deal early, and paying the penalty charge to re-fix might be a way to save money further down the line, as and when wholesale prices start to normalise.

The only certainty is that the cost will go up significantly, one way or another, but this seems the best way to minimise the impact at present.

Received my renewal email today from Eon.
Electric only as we're oil heating.
Currently pay £70 a month, if I go onto the variable it goes up to £79 a month, for now.
If I fix it's £142 a month, more than double my current fix!
As Martin Lewis advises, I'll be doing nothing.
