In the sun at work today debating the line up if everyone is fit against the poorer opposition this is the lineup I would play players that are built for breaking teams down

I think the squad he's picked suggests that he prefers a 3-4-3 formation, with James or Walker playing on the right of the back three, and Tripper / TAA competing for right wing back.

I don't buy this two holding midfielders bo llocks. We did it in 2017/18 with Williams and Gardner. Two co ck blocks is no good.

I'd more or less go with your pick but due to Grealish coming back from an injury and the form of Sancho I'd opt to start Sancho on the right, Foden left. Then give Grealish a run out later on either in the middle to replace Bellingham or out wide to replace Sancho or Foden. Also like the pace that Sancho would offer on the break

totally agree with you but Southgate will undoubtedly play two defensive midfielders

I’d definitely look to playing sancho against teams that come out but against Croatia and Scotland who I think will look to just sit in I’d play the players that can break them down

Sancho has the skill to beat players and break them down, plus his assist record for Dortmund is brilliant. He is more than capable of breaking a side down like Scotland etc.

I’m not disagreeing with you and if grealish isn’t fit enough I’d definitely play sancho but it’s all moot anyway as I think he’ll play sterling and I don’t think he’ll play Foden which in itself is a huge travesty

I like Sterling but him and Kane get in each others way. Both want to be top dog. I think Sterling needs to be told that he stays wide if Kane is on the field. Also I reckon Kane needs to be told to have more faith in Sancho, Mount, Grealish etc. It's so annoying when he drops deep and Sterling or Foden have to get on the end of crosses.

A lot of our problems aren't personnel they're tactical.

I wouldn’t have Southgate anywhere near this squad of players before boothroyd left the under 21s I couldn’t believe we had these two clowns in charge of a generation of talent like we have the mind boggles..

Yeah annoyingly Sterling will play despite the poor form and he will have Rice and Phillips sitting instead of two attack minded cms.

I'd start Sancho instead of Grealish and Chilwell in front of Shaw, but I think that is a pretty good England team. 4-3-3 is definitely the way to go.

Matches lost or drawn with the team sheet. The opposition look at Rice and Henderson or Rice and Phillips and realise our manager hasn't any confidence in the team and it's all smoke.
