Who says they will struggle to get wickets???

    It's the strength they have.

    Bowling Fielder batting
    Strengths from left to right...

I thought from the outset that on some days they could take 20 wickets. Our batting flaky and our batsmen have poor averages at Trent Bridge and out of all the grounds, Trent Bridge would be the one where you expect a relatively low scoring game.

I believe the key will be Australias batting... and a scare on opening day might not be a bad thing to get the players to focus and bring them down to earth for the series.

A bit more discipline needed, their side look very average, despite us gifting them 4 wickets.

England are generally slow starters in test series. might not be a 5 0 whitewash but I still expect England to win the series comfortably

If it moves about like today and dries out a bit more for Swan, I still cannot see Australia with a first innings lead of any kind. We'll get 20 wickets before they do.

This is a typical example why I cant really get my head around cricket.............nothing is constant

Siddle might not be a world beater...but with conditions like they are in Nottingham the ball is likely to move all over the place.
Come tomorrow when the weather changes........the ball stops moving..........it then becomes a different game
Does that make the English bowlers poor ............because the weather has changed?

So how can anyone compare like with like

Don't think we'll have to wait till tomorrow to find out 213/8. Still think we can bowl them out for less in fact I'm going to look for a price on 1st innings lead.

Racing Post yesterday were tipping the 1st test at 4/1 to be the highest scoring test for runs due to the weather forecast.

Hard to say what par is to be fair. Australia have bowled garbage for most of the day and England have thrown half their wickets away. Aussies could declare on Friday with 500 odd or be all out by lunchtime tomorrow ;)

Can't say I follow betting at all. I go on the basis that the ball tends to do more at Trent Bridge than other grounds.

Very poor batting effort all the way through. Perhaps Root the only one to get out to a decent ball. Yes it swung, but the wickets have all been soft and poor decision making. Thought the NZ attack was more potent.

Bairstow a great example of a sportsman been worked out big time.

Think it's something he can improve though.

I don't think any batsman has been worked over. The convicts line and length have been far too erratic to build pressure. Just awful application by English batsmen

Not that I'm one to stick up for HT... but i'm working from home, midweek and watching it too. Maybe let one or two of his posts slide fella. You might not like him, and he may ask for it at times, but do you have to post after his every comment? It's not hard just to ignore him if he gets on your wick.
