    Post-hooliganism press conference

"Well, it's important to hit the ground running and I think we've got off to a good early start. Obviously the boys were over the moon to start so strongly and get some arrests on the board in the first few minutes. We'll meet stronger competition than the Taxi Drivers if we progress past the group stages but you can only beat up what's put in front of you."

Never believe a word of the press regarding hooliganism. Last time round they were offering money to fans to get drunk and cause fights. The tabloid press are scum much lower than hooligans.

    Thanks for that.

Ah, The Times, bastion of tabloid journalism.

Is getting pissed and trashing a taxi football hooliganism? If you shagged a corpse in the back of a van on the way to a match could it be classed as football necrophilia?

    Sorry.

But it doesn't actually mention "football hooliganism" - just calls them hooligans, which they are.

He slags off the tabloids because of an article in The Times. Didn't see the connection.

Don't tell me the TImes aren't averse to a bit of tabloid or chequebook journalism. Who owns them?

Shot in the dark like but maybe the connection is that the Times is a tabloid newspaper.

First par doesn't call them football hooligans. It says they committed an act of hooliganism (which they did), that they were in Germany for the world cup and that they were the first fans to be arrested.

Only in format. It's classed as broadsheet in style.

Don't really see that ownership comes into it. It's a fair story.
