England: Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook, Ian Bell, Kevin Pietersen (captain), Paul Collingwood, Andrew Flintoff, Tim Ambrose (wkt), Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Steve Harmison, Monty Panesar. (N) /poo No Bopara, Bell at 3, Flintoff suddenly a number 6 batsman again (he's a bowler who can bat imo and should bat 7). So is Broad in to provide runs down the order after the likes of Colly and Ambrose have failed again? Our selectors are *****.
Is this KP's team... ...or Peter Moore's or the selectors ? I honestly believe the team should be selected from those players currently in form and a captain selected from that team !
How many time has he failed before that? Its all well and good putting in the occassional big score but then being a liability for long spells in between. If you thing Colly hasn't been a failure this year for both his country and county then maybe you should apply for a job as a selector. We had another opportunity to pick form players and build a younger team and once again the selectors have bottled it.
We haven't managed to take 20 wickets against South Africa in any of the matches so far. Therefore, I don't see what choice they had other than to go with a 5 bowler attack. The 4 bowler attack just hasn't worked. Simple as.
RE: We haven't managed to take 20 wickets against South Africa in any of the matches so far. Fair point but we also haven't posted a decent first innings score either...
the so called seletors have picked the right bowling but yet again not the right batting y is colly still there he only hits but scores when he needs - to keep himself in the team
You're only as good as your last innings, and in that he was fantastic. Granted he's been poor for a while before that (although 6 fifties and 2 hundreds in his last 25 or so innings isnt that bad going), but all players go through bad spells. Yet he still averages over 40.00 which is not half bad for someone who comes in at five or six and has to bat with lower order players a good deal of the time. Besides, he's only 32, hardly over the hill and clearly the best fielder in the team by a long chalk.
but the only thing colly's good for in the team is for his fielding n he's not be tht good in the last few tests
