Not sure I'd have batted 1st, plenty of atmospherics today for swing. Tomorrow through to Sunday look good for batting. Edgbaston always good for swing bowling.

NZ not really challenged the bat enough or figured out what length to bowl, the corridor of uncertainty hasn't been visited many times. Long may it continue.

They are doing ok NZ, especially given the two bowlers who caused us huge problems last test are rested. And Boult has hardly played any cricket.

Solid so far, but the ball is certainly still doing enough.

Playing like last Sunday. Five glorious days of weather so no need to rush things.

Boult swinging it nicely, nearly got burns behind his legs.
    Good steady start so far.

The top 3 is becoming a problem again. Burns and Sibley might have a few decent partnerships behind them but their scoring rates are pedestrian even compared to the likes of Alistair Cook. End up with a lot of hard work, for not many runs and a couple of quick wickets means you're suddenly in a bad position. While Crawley just isn't scoring any runs.

The more Crawley flops, the more chance Yorkshire probably have of losing Malan to another form of the game.

Especially as no Robinson to prop up the tail will do well to get to 200 or even 150 if Burns gets out

I've not even seen the wickets played back yet, so not sure if they were thrown away or good bowling.

I like NZ a lot and hope they beat India, but 140-4 on day 1 at Edgbaston against a team who've rested three bowlers, thats not great.
