Embarrassingly bad. Jordan must be the black Derek Pringle and I'd love Topley to open the bowling at my level.

TBF a lot of the batting wasn't owt to write home about either, went for too many prods and pokes rather than taking a chance, seemed ridiculous given they have a long batting line up.

Agreed, batting was average, particularly the much hyped openers who struggled to go much above run a ball. How anyone sees Roy as being international standard is beyond me.

It would be far too kind to describe the bowling as pop-gun, woeful and inept.

Goodness a bit ott at the least this.
Gayleforce was in the mood today. It happens. England had been playing recently well in this format.

Doesn't matter how you bowl to him his hand eye coordinations special. Unique player. They need to move on now.

think he meant scattergun as in the bowling was all over the place far too many wides and extras and gimmies to win anything at this level

Jordan 6 overs for 24. Not sure that's a bad performance most games, let alone on one where everyone else went at more than 9 an over.

Jordan had got to be the worst player in the last decade, however he can catch ...

Shame he can't bat or bowl !!!!!

    Yep. Best fielder since Colly.

Worst player in the last decade though? I'd have to give that dubious accolade to Jade Dernbach with his 'surprise' slower deliveries 4 times in an over.

The bowling was atrocious. A top class bowler should be able to pitch it on a six pence preferably on the batters toes so then they cant hit it for six . To say Gayle was outstanding is fair but we chucked it up for him to hit .

How did he get away with bowling 6 overs?

Not defending Englands current T20 bowlers but most on here have not mentioned the importance of the toss. Both Rashid and Ali turn the ball, but the dew made the ball almost imposible to grip and the suface greasy hence zero turn. For a player like Gayle these were shooting fish in a barrell conditions. I agree Jordan is gash!

"Bowlers" surpassing themselves again today - SA 72 off 5 overs of pure tripe and Topley dropping dolly catches. Jordan's first over just gone for 22.

Can't blame the dew as we're bowling first.

NB - With reference to Jordan's figures the other day, they include an over which the batsmen played out so Gayle could get his 100 at the other end.

He's got a hell of a lot better and was superb today.

Was absolutely shocking those first few games. Looked like a competition winner.

That's what's so nice about sport Hemsworth. People who aren't playing well can get better. Any true sports fan will appreciate talent even in players they don't like. It's ok to change opinion.

The facts of the subject with Jordan, He's been one of the best worlds in the world at the death for a while. Anyone watching the matches in the uae would have seen it with the super over. Rob Key Nasser Hussain Michael Atherton kumar sangakkara ....... all spoke of this today.

Actually Rob Key described him the best death bowler since Darren Gough. When was the last time he played for England. 2005?

Let's hope they can emulate Collingwood's team, who actually won this.

Absolutely agree. He did well initially, then he was rank bad. All the experts were saying just how bad he bowled in the first 3 games, and now he's back to playing well. Long may it continue! Play like he has today and we could win the world T20. Play like he did in the first matches and he could hand the game to the opposition.

Unfortunately for Chris Jordan, he cant just bowl at the death.

This bowling attack looks better with Plunket in instead of Topley, and the last 10 overs today was one of the best ive seen in T20. Totally strangled the NZ batsmen and then took wickets consistently in the last 10.

The last time England went young and inexperienced into a world cup.

Swann talked about it not long ago. The lions beat them with the likes of Kiesetter Wright Bresnan and whatever.

Good talk after the game today from Atherton Knight Key about what a good change it was 12 months ago.
