Well this is a novel take on the Olympics! I had no idea this was a thing. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/swimming/68248821
Hate the idea missen. I hope performance enhancing drugs are never made legal. There will be a dangerous precedent set as more and more Harmful drugs will be sought. Clean is the only way to judge a persons ability etc. I manage quite well without Viagra.
Interesting. I can see a lot more debate around this kind of thing over the next few decades. Not so much drugs but definitely things like biomechanical limbs, or implanted AR. Even genetic engineering.
Utterly stupid. Just another way for people to act like they know better than the experts, because we live in a bizarre post-truth society. I will admit, it'll be amusing to see the anti-vax lot reconcile their pursuit for personal liberty with the "all pharmaceutical companies are eugenicists" mantra.
I don't mind the idea as something separate to clean sport, which should never change. It will be fascinating to see how far records can be broken with the added help and if people want to put a price on risking their long term health, that's their choice.
If there was objective proof I would happily wager everything I own vs £1k that Usain Bolt doped. Also Leicester the year they won the Premier League.
The doctors Ranieri brought to the club worked for the cycling team Mapei in the 90’s. All their top stars doped.
It’s very dangerous. Look at all the wrestlers having heart attacks & dying in their 50’s after years of steroid abuse, look at cyclists in the 90’s dying of heart attacks before they introduced the 50% heamatocrit level when they were abusing EPO.
I think it will improve the righteous path. If I was a young Dougie Walker, Darren Campbell or Steve Smith. Competing against enhanced cheats would spur me on to greater things. That has to be the end goal. People will always cheat. Wherever there is an advantage or easier option, people will take it. The people that reverse that trend go one step further and even if they don't succeed initially they're the best person a person can be. Night folks.
I've been asking for this for years. The thing I disagree with though is a cash prize for it. I want to see someone run 100m in 2 seconds but I don't think there should be any incentive for someone to do that, other than to say that they did if that makes sense?
I would disagree with that. If he did then he was doing it all wrong, because he won a lot but never got close to any world record.
