Really enjoyed the game today. Thought tactics first half were fascinating. Hill obviously tried to combat their attacking full backs by leaving two up and having four in midfield. He did what Boro did to us at home and let them have the ball until they came in our half. Defensively I thought it worked really well and contained them well. Unfortunately we were disappointing in possesion and a number of players didn't perform. Second half we were much more of a threat when we switched to mirror their formation but we were also more exposed. That said we gave it a real go and for a 15 minute period really rattled them. Ultimately we were beaten by better players but it has taken them several years of playing short passing football to get to that point. Great example for us to aspire to. One big worry for me is how big a loss Butterfield is. We desperately need someone to fill the void he's left. Someone to get hold of the ball and link midfield and attack like Orlandi did for them is a priority. Other than that and the result you can't get much better than that for 16 quid
