Times have changed and he wouldn't surpass his achievements with us last time around, thus being under pressure from you fans all the time. My brother is a Sheffield United supporter, and he wasn't to fussed to see him sacked. Said his tactics were all over the place, the football was dire, in a similar way to Keith Hill, tippy tappy across the back line. Ring any bells? The only reason MOST people want him back is because of his previous success with us all them years ago.
Different league we are talking about here. I want us to fight to stay in this league, and the only man who can do that who is available, or so he says he is, is Neil Warnock. Whether or not he would come, but its worth a try.
I don't want him to surpass his achievements, that would be unrealistic. I want him to keep us up. realistically who else might do that?
I seriously don't think anyone with half a brain would expect him to even come close to doing that. Playing like a team, winning a few games and making it half way enjoyable to actually go to games would be a good start for the first few years.
I am not being mean but I genuinely can't understand that point of view. Bolton fans utterly hated Megson, he was a legend at Wednesday and even they sacked him. Got to be Danny Wilson, no he won't surpass the prem season, but no right thinking person will expect him to.
I'd love it to be Danny Wilson but when I consider he's out of work and readily available and Mellon has now had three matches in charge I'm left with the feeling that it's not going to be Danny or, for that matter, someone else currently out of work.
Exactly what I said at the game today. If it were going to be Wilson he would be in by now. The board have no one in the frame other than Mellon, and were desparate for him to do well today so they could give it to him on a wave of positive vibes. Today's shambles has really fecked it up for them.
