why he is........ *****, failed at man u, flopped at villa so what makes him good? see this is a prime example of a player who people see where he has played and presume he must be superb yet they miss the fact he has flopped where he has been!
Ok ok lets get something straight, just because you dont think he did well at Man Utd or Aston Villa, doesn't mean he is *****. A Cameroon international, plays very well IMO for his country, seen him have some very good games for Cameroon too. If we had signed a Cameroon international, I think the mood would be a bit different to us signing League 2 midfielders. Cameroon international or League 2 midfielder? Christ on a bike.
read cotterills quotes on him once we get him fit!?!?! I thought we needed players ready now, not 5 - 10 games time? I never compared him to mattis and should hope that eric is better than him otherwise it makes some top flight managers look silly but it is an example of a name palyer that has not played this year yet he is going to be a great signing why? He has yet to prove anything in England so why becasue he is a division lower down does that make any difference? So would you rather sign a player even though he has not played this year, has yet to adjust to the english game, is unfit so will take time to get fit, and will be expensive juts becasue he is an international, is that not more of a gamble? Micah Hyde is a player who has moved from burnley yet imho he would have been ideal for us!
Micah Hyde? If he was that good wouldn't someone else have come in for him? At the minimum League One.</p> Djemba-Djemba isn't a gamble IMO as such simply because he is only there on loan. Even though he is unfit, someone like him IMO is a better acquisition than a League 2 player having to step up 2 divisions! I dont want to knock Mattis before seeing him, but looking from outside Djemba-Djemba is a different kettle of fish to Mattis. The wages are definately a gamble - be a huge difference between the two players I know.</p> Oh **** it, im not getting into this argument. A waste of time.</p>
One final point.... " I thought we needed players ready now, not 5 - 10 games time?"</p> For one minute I weren't even talking about us getting him. One, we are at the wrong end of the table for him to even consider us, and two, there is no way we would pay wages like he will be on.</p>
like i said i am not doubting Djemba-Djemba is better but for me it is still just as big a gamble if not bigger becasue of the stated reasons! Like you say with Micah Hyde if Djemba-Djemba was that good would have not gone to a "bigger" club other than Burnley and why ahs it taken a team so long to sign him when he has bee available all season? I'm not digging at you but i know individuals that look at it and will moan that we have not signed him or some silly comment like we are signing from league 2 and other clubs are signing ex man u players, ffs it is not always that straight forward and on the face of it, it is not always a good deal. Example; start of the season horsefield, yes we would no doubt have loved him more because of his past achievements yet he flopped at Leeds whereas we moaned at been linked with KZR becasue he is young and lower league can yopu see what i am trying to use as an example?
would you sign shipperley given the chance On the face of it Djemba-Djemba does look a good signing but when you consider the points made about fitness, adjusting, not played etc it is a big gamble Shipperley has been injured for a large part of the season, is not match fit, has yet to play a competitive game and will take 5-10 games to gain his fitness for me is the same kind of gamble as D-D yet our fans would be happy to sign him despite the above, but for me i would rather sign someone who has played regular thsi season no matter what division!
Sorry mate.... I thought you were after an argument. My original comment was merely based on his stature as a multi-million pound signing, and that he is a good player at international standard. But it was not my intention at all to say that he is the type of player we should be looking at, simply because we cannot compete.</p> Shipperley? Based on the fact of how well he did for us previously - and how well he did for the Blades last season would sway me towards saying yes - but I do see the point you are making as regards fitness. It would take him time to get his fitness, but isnt that a similiar scenario to Leon Knight? He weren't playing with the first team and only training with the youths.</p> At the end of the day mate i'm not disagreeing with what you are saying at all. Just to me on the face of it, Burnley have brought in an international standard player. For a team like them to get a player like him is potentially a move that could possibly earn them a high finish, not just because of his own play, but a signing like that can give the whole place a lift.</p>
RE: like i said i am not doubting My reasons for commenting about Micah Hyde is that his move is a permanant one to a team 2 divisions lower. Djemba-Djemba's move is only a loan - maybe to get him some games under his belt, potentially a permanant move or just to put him in the shop window again. But he has only dropped one league, to a team not so many league places below them.
