Why did we let Winstanley go? Quote from Redfearn: He added: "One of the main bonuses of the Scarborough job is that I have got Eric here as well. He has got tremendous experience, has done every job in football and is an excellent coach. "With the good side we had at Barnsley he was 80% of everything that happened on the pitch with his organisation and style of play. "He's also fantastic with young players, like Andy Liddell, Nicky Eaden and Dave Watson at Barnsley, and we have got good kids here who will benefit. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/scarborough/4400154.stm
RE: We can live in hope At the moment we nowt wrong with the current management team. One of the reasons we are in the mess we are financially is the constant chopping and changing. Redfearn and Winstanley may not be about the next time we need a management team, so to say its nailed on is questionable to say they least.
RE: We can live in hope Agreed. All in all I dont think that the team at the moment are doing too bad a job in what must be difficult circumstances but if it does all go wrong it would be nice to think that we would have two old Barnsley lads to call on
Totally agree with that Ritchie's doing a good job as far as I'm concerned. I think the team is better now than it has been for a number of years. Whether or not it's good enough for promotion, only time will tell. But there's been definite improvement and that's all you can ask.
RE: Totally agree with that I really dont see any need whatsoever to panic just yet. Had you asked me before the season started I would have been more than happy with our current league position. Most clubs outside the prem (and indeed, some in it) are finding it difficult financially at present so we are no exception. I'm quite happy at where we are and where we are aiming to be
absolutely - wasn't saying wanted AR out at all we need stability - think he will make a good manager given a couple of seasons. he will leave eventually however and when he does i can see redders and big eric managing us.
"and later played in the Premiership for both Alan Curbishley and Paul Jewell." And, err .... Danny Wilson.
