Your feelings very much mirror my own. I find myself fighting my way to the end of games feeling slightly relieved when it's all over.

Good writing and a good read.

    Cheers for posting.

Me too. I've just posted that my overall impression so far is that the tournament has been very disappointing.

It's been pretty dull and very low-key, more like watching qualifiers than a tournament, the format change hasn't worked IMO, cut the teams for the next one.

I've heard rumours they are going to expand the amount of teams to 32 for Euro 2020 and adopt the World Cup format which I think would be the wrong way to go.

The 16 team format always worked fine I thought but I guess it's a way of UEFA getting more money out of it if there are more matches.

Can't disagree with anything in the blog. It's like every team is being coached by Johnson. Can't help thinking that we would do much better to play in the way the current Barnsley team do currently with a modern version of 4-4-2.

    I was going to post

something very similar, boring negative football. The most glaring thing to me is the appalling quality of crossing both from open play and set pieces.

Absolutely, it makes me appreciate Hourihane even more. His quality from set pieces is ridiculous and he makes it look so easy while the best players in the world make it look incredibly difficult.

    Decent cross alert.

    Ireland just put one in.

Based on evidence so far I don't anticipate many such messages.
