No doubt some Wendyites will declare it a missed opportunity, their 5-year plan will have them champions of Europe around then.

Exactly, but you will be in the wrong for daring to suggest such a thing.

No stadium refurbs on the horizon, they'll have to cover it with tarpaulin again.

I'm just glad they're off the lists. Cos they are both dilapidated and outdated s41tholes.

You should see what their forums are like with us.

I know there's been a lot of Manchester United fans moaning about this, old trafford and all that - whilst in the next breath mentioning how the Glaziers need to refurbish & improve the stadium..?!

It is sad though that there is not one ground of the requisite standard in the whole of Yorkshire and given the near third world transport infrastructure of Tory Britain it'll probably be much easier to get to a game in Istanbul than Liverpool by 2028.

Owls seem to think that everyone thinks it's their cup final. In fact before their game with Forest Green Brian Laws said "it's their biggest game of the year"

Surprised no Old Trafford, Anfieild, Emirates or even Twickenham on there, I know there are some plans for Villa Park but seems an odd choice

They have selected stadia to represent the whole of the UK and Ireland. Villa Park is seen as the best choice in the Midlands

So, if this bid is successful, how does qualification work? Shirley 5 nations can't qualify on the host nation ticket?

I was wondering about that myself. It's not like the previous euros with so many hosts that automatic qualification would have been absurd, but 5 is still a lot. On the other hand it would be very sad for any of the hosts if their side wasn't involved, especially for Northern Ireland.

Well the Glaziers could at least replace all the glass frontage I suppose.

Isn’t the next World Cup having about 48 teams involved next time? If so the euros might follow suit so there’ll be extra places for hosting nations…….I’m assuming

Generous of us to give other countries a chance to host matches, when England is the only country with enough grounds to host alone and therefore don't need the others.

There are 55 countries in UEFA. If Russia and Belarus are still banned, it'd be harsh on the 5 that miss out...

I think its a good idea - it follows the trend for joint hosting as it allows smaller countries who would never be able to host the entire thing themselves a chance to be part of it, also we all know people don't like the English, and so its harder to turn us down if we include the fantastic Scottish, amazing Welsh and brilliant Irish underdogs with the great Satan that is England.
