If it did happen that we went down at least we would win more matches next season and score more goals.

However I think we will stay up but only just.

Think we will go down with Luton and QPR. Large Home defeats under Davey affecting the Goal Differential will probably be the reason. Doubt we will win many more matches next season, as we shall have released our better players or they wiull have found other clubs. The procrastination on Howard's contract extension reminds me of a similar episode in November.

Is a realistic expectation?

Colgan signed for 2 years.

Reid 2 years.

Togwell 2 years.

Im sure If we wanted to retain Nardi or Marc Richards we can.

Hecky signed 2 1/2 years last season.

and if thats happens

no doubt replaced with the big bag of cash we get for him.

Cant see it missen though with a 2 1/2 year contract unless its for mega bucks or a contract release clause....?

agreed about the cash, but that will be used to finance the debt and a reduction in gate receipts in the region of £1-£1.5m in the ale house league.

Perhaps

a big slice of the debt has no doubt been serviced this season as it seems to me that transfers this season may have costs us abart net 100k when alls said and done. Abart 500k to 700k TV monies (yes Gordon, I think thats about right) Say 3k increase in average attendance this season 3k x 15 to 20 x 23 games= 1 to 1.4m Cant see too much of that has gone on extra wages this season not to mention play off revenues.

RE: Perhaps

i wouldn't disagree with your figures but if that's the case then the indebtedness would still be in the £2.5 - £3m range. Need another year in the Championship as I feel that if it's been done as frugally as this year it may all but wipe out the remaining debt.

Think playoff revenues may be in last years accounts as year end was 31st May 06

Serious question:

Have we spent £100k net?

I'm probably wrong - but this is how I see it:

In:
McIndoe £125k
McCann £100k
Mattis £50k
Istvan £250k

Out:
Flinders £300k
McIndoe £250k

I think we've spent nothing - we're still £25k in front.

Have I missed someone?
The only ones I can think of are Togwell & Coulson - but they were about 25p each I think ... probably the same as what we got for Tommy Wrong.

Reckon Togwell was 50k?
Rajczi loan figure maybe 200k? certainly six figures was quoted by several sources.

Though I reckon we may have got a bit more up front for Flinders maybe even 400k?

Speculation in part but all in all I dont think its much more than a 100k spend.

I forgot about the Rajczi loan fee

If it's 150k ... then that's almost £10k per game.
I wonder if it gets knocked off any potential fee we might pay?
If not - then it's bloody steep.

£100k to stay in the championship isn't realistic with the squad we had.
And I'm not even sure we've spent that.

It's about as Box Office as your face.

I thought I'd read the Flinders fee was £150K down,

£200K after 12 months and anything else was based on appearances and England caps.

I think we were expecting to get £150K by flogging Hayes to balance the books on the Magyars. Gordy will be sweating!
