    Does anyone seriously think that, when the Lebanese authorities allowed Hezbollah to site missile bases in residential areas and bomb Israeli civilians, they didn't know full well that Israel would respond by bombing the missile bases and killing hundreds of Lebanese civilians?

    "Boo! Down with Israel!" Talk about playing into their hands.

    A few years ago Private Eye ran a cartoon of a "Smart Missile" whizzing through the clouds with a think bubble containing the words "Isn't it a bit stupid rising to open provocation like this?"
