I fed up with all the negativity on this board...... When you look at our transfer activity over the summer, their is no doubting that we have strengthened and in the right areas.

    Transfers In:
Steele - quality goalkeeper at this level. Great business to get him on a free transfer.
Moore - experienced centre half with a big presence. Something we've been missing for some time. Great signing.
Colace - he certainly has the right pedigree representing Argentina at U21 level. Could prove to be a revolation.
El Haimour - Unknown quantity, but has impressed in pre-season. Naturally left sided and comfortable on the ball.
Hume - quick and clever striker with great work ethic. I think he will do well for us this year.
Rigters (loan) - he has good pedigree but is unproven at this level. Could be another top find and prove to be our 20goal man?

    Out:
Ferenczi (undisc.) - great servant to the club. Had to make way for new blood as not enough goals in his locker.
Ricketts (free) - failed to hold down a place. Didn't get much chance, but will not be missed.
Nayatanga (loan rtn) - Quality youngster, but not ours to keep. Moore will be adequate replacement.
Nardiello (loan rtn) - wasted talent, did well in first few spells but has since gone off the boil. Will not be missed.
Christiensen (undisc) - didn't get much of a chance and wasn't likley to from what I gather. better of the wage bill
Meynall (free) - sounded a good prospect suprised we let him go.
Youngsters e.g. Devonshire, Federenko, Jennings, Smith, Ormsby, Waterfall & White. - Always suprised and dissapointed to see talented yougsters released especially the likes of Federenko.

The players SD has brought in are here to play and not make up the numbers. If you think about our cup run last season when we beat the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool. We did not have Macken, Anderson, Muller, Nyatanga or Mostto at our disposal. Against Cheslea I seem to remember Bobby Hassell playing in midfield alongside Howard. Admittedly this was his best game in midfield, but it proved what he is capable of. So you think, if we can perform anything like we did against the teams with that squad. Just think what we could have done if we had some of those players available e.g. Macken.

So think of it this way its the team vs QPR is the same one that beat Chelsea, plus fowards Macken/Hume/Rigters, a big strong & influential defener in Darren Moore and a pacey natural left winger in El Haimour. Sounds like a big improvment to me.

    My team vs QPR.

    Steele

    Foster, Moore, Souza, Kozluk

    Devaney, Hassell, Howard, El Haimour

    Macken, Hume

Subs: Letheren, Van Homeot, Leon, KO, Rigters,

oh and score 2-1 to the reds......... Macken and Hume with the late winner.

apart form the rumoured fall outs behind the scenes between Dowie and the new board QPR are also missing some key players i.e. Martin Rowlands, Daimon Stewart, Samuel Di Carmine and Daniel Parejo....... also with so many new faces it may take them time to gel

    Good post Johnny.
    I actually share your optimism.
It is good to see some people are still positive.
Especially as we haven't kicked a ball in anger yet.
May take a month to get going, but we will get going.

Hume would play on the left anyway, but

Devaney will play on the right, he has been one of the best players pre-season
