Disgraceful, pathetic and cowardly. Who will be charged by the police though?: not the players yet they have carried out what you could technically argue is affray, or at least a breach of the peace. The proximity of this incident to the supporters sadly led to others getting involved (they didn't have to). Should all involved be subject to a police investigation? Those in the crowd surely will, and others will be banned. What will the instigators suffer?.
Nay lad .... punches were thrown and people laid hands on each other, which is technically assault (common assault at least). My argument here however is the hypocrisy: you know as well as me that 3 or 4 everton fans will suffer some kind of sanction as a consequence of this, be it legal or through the club. The players will get away with it.
I think Williams should have walked after the push. That was the most dangerous action of the whole incident. As for the "brawl", it's just the same old "hold me back, hold me back" This type of stuff happens so many times over a season, and these lads are apparently so angry, yet unlike Sunday league no one ever punches anyone in the face, ever! Just for once, I'd love to see someone let the "hold me back" brigade go and see if they actually throw a punch and get sent off and banned for something worthwhile, but I think we all know that the best they could manage would be more pushing or at worst, a head butt gesture. Unlike little franny Lee making a right mug out of "hard man" Norman Hunter, they don't really want to engage, it's all a storm in a tea cup.
I hope it was the pillock holding his son with one arm while throwing a punch at a player with the other. I also hope that wasn't the Family Stand.
Despite all the posts above the melee was started when a football player pushed another one. Yet it looks as if they will not be charged with anything. How ridiculous is that ?????
