...........any player that shows any sort of form is sold inside a few months of being here. This is new to Barnsley. We kept players for a while before selling them on. There seems to have been a revolving exit door installed at the WELL. We could compete for players with the majority of other clubs in this league......since we have come back into the Championship that hasn't happened........Ritchie, Davey, Robins and now Hill have struggled to get championship quality players in And on the rare occasion we do manage to get someone decent in, the vultures from other clubs are soon circling overhead (e.g. Haynes)............is it because they understand the situation with Barnsley FC finances better than what us Barnsley fans do.
haynes, decent....... really get myself of the floor after falling off laughing. weve got plenty of really good players here.
Stop being silly now Hemsworth - He is a good player. He may not be tearing the league up but hes a good player.
nar, fancy dan, show pony. up front or out wide i would play davies gray rose all before him wide rnl vazte obrien done perkins
he's got talent but, he's non too eager to show it consistently. Begs the question whether he whole heartedly wants to remain here in the long term.
There's no difference at all Luke Steele has been here years. Hassell has and Foster has. All solid to good. Shackell went after one year because he engineered it. Well Ashley Ward and Craig Hignett hardly reached 200 appearances either. If someone has the money, then any talent anywhere is fair game. I can't see clubs watching intently at Oakwell, thinking, I know... we'll not scout any other club, we'll just watch patiently in the vain hope we can do them over and get their fans moaning on the forums. Simply put, a huge amount of clubs across the UK have a bigger catchment than Barnsley. Most get bigger crowds. Most are more commercially attractive for sponsorship. Like it or not, SWFC and the blunts get bigger gates, have a bigger city and have more corporate companies willing to splash cash. Also consider... the town isn't the most attractive to live in is it? Unless you're a staunch fan, you probably arent going to go to bed as a nipper dreaming of running out and lining up at full back to run up and down in front of the west stand for 45 minutes. We're not going to get a sugar daddy, we arent going to mystically add 20,000 to the weekly gate, we arent suddenly going to get Emirates sponsoring our ground for a song. It is what it is. And its the way it is for all of the smaller clubs and the way its been for many years, maybe its just accentuated a little more because of the media and more accessible information.
Why would you play Gray and Rose before Haynes HT? I get the feeling you rate Haynes about as highly as you did Tex?
tex hit the target more than haynes. the players give him chances amd he misses. rose is a talent and a goal scorer. will hit the target more times than not.
Its no different at all, any team thats perceived to be struggling they get hit by teams trying to pick off their better players, if a teams doing reasonably well they are not seen as such an easy target.
sorry Nudge but its allus been same.. prime example = Higgy werent ere 5 mins.. only stayed as long as he did because we nearly went back up.. AAAAARGH! FLASHBACK! i hated that day.. the journey back up ont train, knowing our squad was to be ripped apart.. knowing THAT was Merlins last game.. the start of our decline.. but we are on the up now, so cheer up, Haynes is staying.. Don sez so.. scouts honour.. ha!
Haynes has hardly been at Oakwell long enough to even judge him. Has definitely got pace but hasn't looked that impressive so far. If he wants to go already, then get rid...
