everyone hates L J it seems

but he as the highest winning stats since dave bassett in 1999, that's the best in 17 years, O K everyone will say , oh but we are in league 1, but

he as league 1 budget and league 1 players, lots on 2 - 3 grand a week, no big earners on 10 grand plus like previous managers, he as 39

percent loss rate , compare that to danny 2nd spell 50 %, flicker 40 %,hill 53 %,robins 43%,davey 45%,only andy Ritchie beats him on loss rate

on 37 percent , in the spell I am talking about , so why is everyone so down on him

 

well having a wild guess, a lot of the football has been turgid and boring ( apart from odd highlights)and we are at the bottom end of league 1?

 

Terrific result yesterday but Johnson is not the man to lead us.

 

I must have missed summat. I have not seen anything to suggest everyone hates him. Several slate him vociferously but many also remain silent . That is not a definition of everyone that I understand.

But all the previous managers have had to compete with parachute payments, big clubs and moneybags while working with one of the smallest budgets in the league. LJ has one of the biggest budgets in the division.

 

No one hates him but plenty think he's out of his depth at the moment . I had a great day yesterday but still think it's the worst 6 goal game I've been to . Blackpool were truly dreadful but we've lost or drawn to similar teams in the past so yesterday was an improvement . Felt sorry for the Blackpool fans we met on the train going home , if losing badly wasn't enough they were on the wrong train !!

 

I don't hate Johnson. I quite like him and I don't want him sacked. However, his stats at Barnsley don't particularly impress me. I believe he has some potential and we will improve if we keep him (just my opinion) rather than take any satisfaction from what he has achieved so far.

I think what your post does more than anything is highlight just what a lean time we've had for almost two decades and how poorly we've performed under a succession of managers, rather than display Johnson in a good light. At the moment he's slightly above the rest, but it's still a long way short of what we'd all like to see.

 

I really like him. Met him & think he's a good bloke.

However I think his brand of football overall is shocking, he can't organise a side, he can't motivate a team & his team is hopeless unless it gets the first goal as he can't change a game

 

i think he talks a load of *****, has produced very little in respect of results on the pitch....and most of his football is utterly boring to be honest.

he has some decent players in the squad but seems to have the handbrake on all the time

 

He will never get Barnsley promoted out of this league, relegated maybe, probably in fact given our form this season.

So, if our ultimate aim is to indeed gain promotion back into the championship, then it seems silly just sticking with LeeJay for the sake of it. Obviously the 3 year contract doesn't help, but that's the boards stupid fault.

Anyone who thinks LJ can get us into the League 1 playoffs are very silly. There is no way this inept fool is ever going to get us any higher than midtable. It's unbelievable that he is still in a job after all the baffling disgraceful garbage this season.

 

Its not everybody by talking to some fans I know that don't use forums or twitter etc it's a mixed bag.
Some hate him some think hes out of his depths some think we should judge end of season some think he'll come good etc etc.
À few of the ones that hate him was because we sacked Danny or the league position and performances or because his character just doesn't resonate with them..
Personally i'm as yet undecided and were always gonna wait till after January before deciding ,however I have criticised some performances in some of my aftermatch a analysis and sometimes during the game as is my perogative as a supporter.

 

Seems a lovely fella. Very poor manager on the evidence so far but who knows what the future may bring ( other than relegation of course).

 

What are the stats? How can you have the highest winning stats yet lose 9 in a row and be bottom of the league? Doesn't add up to me.
Losing stats are not the same, P50 w0 d50 l0 gives you a 0% loss rate but the important stat is the %0 win rate which shows how good a manager you are.

 

I don't hate him at all. Don't know him. I'm sure he's a good bloke. The problem is he's **** at football management so the rest is irrelevant.
