that I was worried about after Tuesday night, was remedied yesterday afternoon. Derby are the perfect example of the kind of Championship club that we were all worried about: wages that would make our players shake their head in disbelief, never mind us in the stands; spending more on a player that only makes the bench than we have spent on our entire squad. But we didn't just beat them, we outplayed them in every area of the pitch. It was an amazing performance considering what we were up against. It wasn't Derby that attacked with the type of pace that makes it almost impossible to defend against, moving the ball from one penalty area to the other with speed an flair, it was us; they didn't look capable of promotion, we did. We didn't look like we were making up the numbers in this division, happy with anything above the bottom three, we clearly belong here.

I would imagine much has been made of the performances of both Hourihane and Roberts. Phenomenal, both. But I want to praise Kent. Did everything that I thought he just wasn't capable: tracked back, helped out his full back, ran his blood to water. And he ran at opposition defence all afternoon, scaring them half to death. Well done lad.

A deserved victory over a team who three months ago were playing in the Championship Play Offs. I don't believe Derby are a poor team, we made them look ineffective, in my opinion.
We now play one of our bogey teams on Wednesday night. If the atmosphere is anything like yesterday's, we have an opportunity to continue what we've started. I've always enjoyed evening league games at Oakwell under the floodlights and I'm hoping it'll be the same against QPR.
The players have set themselves a high standard after yesterday. The likes of Yiadom, MacDonald, Winnall, Almeira, Moncur, Lee & Payne (along with any possible new signings we might bring in before the transfer window closes) will have to show patience whilst the current incumbents in the starting eleven strut their stuff.

Wasn't it exactly the kind of game we were yearning for while we were in the alehouse league? Practically perfect yesterday. Such a shame that team from Sheffield are still in the league below.

    Yes, it was.
I'm far more interested in the clubs we'll be up against this season than concern myself about one in particular who isn't.
