Can any one help. When you buy a council house which are your boundaries.

Some people have said its Forward and Left but I though that who ever bought the house first had to maintain the boundary.

We are not in dispute or anything but we are going to put some new fences up for the summer and we are not sure which are ours legally.

there is no hard and fast rule, it varies depending on the property. You'll have to check your deeds to find the answer im afraid.

Check on you title plan. It may have some 'T's on the boundaries. Whichever side they are on has responsibility. You may have to go back in time and look at previous plans as they do seem to be something that has been forgotten over the years. Get your title number and do a search on Land Reg website it will show you what documents you can purchase. A plan they hold electronically will cost £4.
