From the whole team. Brighton are a good side, but we played so well in that first half that they barely launched an attack. Different story in the second half when they did cause us problems, but everyone stuck to their task, worked hard and secured the victory.

We looked such a better team with Etuhu in the centre. It's difficult to fathom why we've pushed him out wide and to right wing back in order to accommodate Tunnicliffe when we've got a player on our own books capable of giving such a dominating performance.

Good piece of management to withdraw Delap, bring on Hassell and move Wiseman to right back. Delap had played very well but he was struggling when they brought on a fast winger. He'd been booked and committed a further foul, so I think the next one would have seen him off.

Excellent performances throughout the team tonight, Wiseman deserves a mention for a good game at centre half, but I'd give the MOTM award to Luke Steele for a simply fantastic penalty save that won us the game.

    Well played Reds.

agreed. etuhu is a different player in the middle. good, all-round battling performance. backs to the wall in 2nd half, but to be expected. o'brien needs to pull his socks up though, and mellis scares the hell out of me sometimes with his casual approach.

special mention for wiseman as well. had a great game. i know most won't acknowledge that, but he did

When he plays well I say so, when he doesn't I say so too.

I'd go along with all that, old mate

But I want to give a special mention to Chris O'Grady as well. He was superb for us tonight and proof that you should never listen to Sheffield Wednesday fans when it comes to football!:) Also, I believe every Barnsley fan knew Jason Scotland would score when the ball came to him from O'Grady. Class finish from a class player.
Terrific team performance tonight, lads. You did us all proud.

Etuhu was fantastic too, by far his best game for us

Jim O'Brien was probably the only negative tonight. He did some good things, but that bit of petulance that got him booked was ridiculous. He was rightly subbed soon after.

Etuhu - powerful display with some great tackles, covered a lot of ground (my MOM)

Wiseman - very solid and needs recognition for this, pleased for the lad

    Crainie - solid and dependable

O'Grady - took some right shoe from their back 4 and held ball up we'll for us

Happy REDS fan tonight and credit to the whole team for a collective show full of effort and endeavour.

Chuffed with the win and bloody hell it were getting cold at the end, but Mellis really disappointed me. I'm not sure he knew what role he was supposed to be playing - looked lost at times and a bit reluctant to chase back and graft when needed. Be better more central. Other opinions are, obviously, available.

I thought he started off really promisingly but got gradually worse. There's no doubting he's a class player and I do think he's worked on the defensive side of his game. The ball out to O'Brien in the first half was almost sublime, he hit it with a technique that no one else in our squad would even attempt to. I think you've got to bare with his bad games because it's like him to pop up with a killer pass to create a goal.
