One thing this does prove is that Cryne is true to his word. He's twice stated that he would be gone before Johnson and it seems this will now be the case. Whether his exit is in the best interests of the club is debatable. From a financial point of view, it's disastrous. Season after season, he has plugged the shortfall and kept us afloat. I'm as grateful for this as I am for him taking over the reins in the first place. However, when you look into the reasons why we're in the red every season, managerial hiring and firing, misguided recruitment strategy, undervaluing and sale of assets and ultimately failure on the pitch there has to be some accountability. In other words, perhaps we wouldn't need to be bailed out of the club was being run properly. Nobody with half a brain thinks that Mansford picks the team, or James Cryne picks the team for that matter. They're red herrings. There are some legitimate qualms about our recruitment policy but I think this is a small issue in the grand scheme of things, as is Johnsons choice of eleven starters on a Saturday. For me, the biggest issue has been our overall strategy or rather the fact that we've tried a few and ditched them when results have dipped. As a result we're stuck with the worst strategy of the lot (rely on young loanees) which is the inevitable result of the money drying up and will see us relegated. I don't believe the majority want Cryne to leave. Certainly the majority want him to sort it out. Surely the only solution is to take a back step and appoint someone who knows what he's doing and give him full autonomy. We've hired and fired enough managers in our time, perhaps it's time to try a new CEO.
In order to move forward we desperately need a complete overhaul wether people like it or not, swapping managers is just the tip of the iceberg We need new ears and eyes, look at things differently not just cryne but Mansford, Watkins and Taylor Without wholesale changes we will remain stagnant at best Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Really hope he doesn't leave on a low point. If/when Patrick and his family do leave, it would be fitting for this to happen on a positive note.
i personally wouldnt read too much into this 'he will be the last manager i appoint',....there will be a point where cryne says enough is enough if we keep performing like we are.Just my opinion but Cryne surely cant be that stubborn to the point where he'll see us forced into relegation with a continuous run off pi55 poor results. All it will take is a simple 'i got it wrong'.
As long as the new owner is not A Turk, or I Thai, ot Bang la Desh. Take Sheffield Wed. They are better now as a team, but believe that the fans are not as Taken with this set up as the old Wednesday set up. We need to keep our traditions. I think we just purely and simply want a new manager. We have dropped a clanger, so admit to it and let's get moving with correcting it
