Disappointed with a number of things. First off, Newcastle were not the best side we have seen at Oakwell this season, definitely not better than Fulham at the weekend. The wingers, yet again, were ineffective, and very powderpuff, getting knocked off the ball all too easy. This has been a recurring theme for the past 4 or 5 matches. Its time they were dropped. Or strike force were very poor tonight and posed Newcastle no problems at all. Winnall might be a good finsher when getting the service, BUT when he isnt getting the service he is a liability. His distribution is very poor, he's not fast enough to run the channels, and he isn't very good at holding the ball up. Watkins had an off day today. Now this brings me onto my next point, Hecky. His decision making during games, in particular substitutes, is very questionable. It was clear, as already mentioned, that our strike force were posing Newcastle no real problems. But yet again Hecky left it too late to change things, after their 2nd goal, when the game was all but over. It was the same at leeds and Brighton for example. The Referee was yet again, a complete joke. Shelvey should have seen red with a challenge worse than Scowens! Now my major concern is the amount of goals we have conceded just after half time, Ipswich, QPR, Brighton, Leeds, Newcastle, Preston, etc etc.. Its a major worry, and it's something that we need to work on. Anyway, there were some positives to take from tonight for sure, Jackson looked impressive, as did Yiadom at left back. Bree was my MOTM, very solid throughout. Morsy had a good game and lasted the full 90 minutes. There are some massive games coming up against sides we need to be taking points from if we are to stay in this league.
2 defensive mistakes and a £10 million quid forward. Can't say I'm disappointed I thought it was a close game. Defensively we were sound and Morsy was much improved though faded badly. Winnall was good tonight. Won a lot and competed well. Thought Jackson played well and we looked much better at full back. Both wingers were poor againthough.
