I can't help wondering why so many posters are crying out for experienced players to join the club.

Mike Flynn, Dave Chettle and Tony Vaughn ( excuse spelling ) were all experienced players.

I would rather sign players with genuine ability.

Give me a young McCarthy,Tyler, Pickering and Taggart anytime.

Experienced players with ability I am ok with, but I don't want to see us sign a bunch of players well past their sell by date.

    (blagger)

I agree that the experienced players also need ability

After all, good players though they became, McCarthy benefitted from playing alongside Hunter & Evans, Tiler & Taggart from Paul Futcher. Without that experienced head alongside them, would they have developed the talent that they undoubtedly had?

Can't speak about Pickering as he was before my time.

    Yeh, they would.

If you check back McCarthys first few seasons he played with John Saunders. He only had about 16 league games with Futcher. Tyler played along side Futcher even less.

I can see your point though.
