Looking to replace my PC sometime next year, however, I have a lot of files on there (mainly digital photos) that I'd need to offload and I don't have a CD burner. So I was considering buying an external CD burner but the drawback to that is that it would be no use after getting the new PC as that would no doubt have one. So whilst looking on Amazon for the price for CD burners I found a couple of external hard drives for under £100 that look decent - and the advantage is that after getting a new PC I could still use the external drive for backing up my system. As anyone got one of these that they could recommend? http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...-reviews/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_1/026-6428528-6917221 http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00076WEQA/ref=amb_left-1_40654991_2/026-6428528-6917221 I'm thinking the Western Digital would be the best bet
Yer can also turn any standard internal hard drive into an external using a case. But them two look pretty good for t' price.
You can get a 160G Western Digital drive for £75 from PC world and and 80G Freecom one for under 60. We just used one to transfer some files at work form another company and it worked a treat.
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0668868258.1135778673@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccgdaddgikfhehhcflgceggdhhmdgmi.0&category_oid=-24880&category_name=%2fDSG%2fData+Storage%2fHard+Disk+Drives%2fExternal+Hard+Drives&camp_id=null&page=ProductList&show_all=true&fm=5&sm=0&tm=undefined

Cheers for that There's a 40Gb one for about £57 there as well which would be adequate for my needs, seeing as my current drive is 25Gb. Could then just use to back up important files to after.
