its amazin t c the vast amount of people cum out as barnsley fans afta liverpool, chelsea now wer goin t wembley.... u hear all this about "O hav always supported them" B*ll*cks! if this was tru R attendances wud b greater a week insted of the poor 9/10k we average.. they onli want t know wen we r doin wel, any1 seein the same or isit jst me???
A tip for the traders amongst you... ... come out with a range of reversible shirts, Barnsley on the one side and Liverpool/ManU/Chelse/Arsenal on the other. They'd go down a storm. Exactly the same thing's happening down here btw.
It doesn't follow that to be a fan of a club that you have to attend games! I haven't lived within 120miles of Barnsley for 37 years and consequently have not seen more than half the games each season, some years a lot less! When living abroad I didnt see a game for over 2 years but that did not stop me from being a Barnsley fan! For many people last weekends game or the comming semi might be their first game for a long time doesnt mean they are not supporters. Ask my 92 year old mother who she supports and she would say Barnsley but if she has ever been it will be 70 years ago at least! Notice I havent used the term "real fan" once! Those of you who are able to attend every game think yourselves lucky - not superior to those of us who logistically or financially can not do the same!
The anti-bandwagon supporters annoy me more than the ones on the bandwagon. Would you prefer it if nobody but the regulars got excited about our semi final and we took 12k to wembley? That would look great. People moan about attendances all season and when something happens that promotes the club and attracts fans, they start moaning about band wagons and wood work. Obviously it would b great to see 18k home supporters turn out for the likes of colchester, but this is not gonna happen. Some of the people jumping on the bandwagon may be attracted to come next season and any improvement to attendance is a good thing. Basically, quit your fecking moaning!!
what do you want at wembley???? 11000 "true" fans and half the terraces empty or 33000 including all the johnny cum latelys

theres plenty of tickets to go round so don't knock em mate, they are more than welcome. Plus, you never know, they might get bitten by the bug and attend a bit more often

agreed My wife was a part/none timer
if there's another 1500 buy a season ticket next year that's nearly 500k in revenue.

you might be a fan, not a supporter though! THE MORE THE MERRIER so long as the bandwagon bennies dfont nick my ticket!!
So after 42 years and over 2000 games where i have kicked every ball, whether I have actually been present or not, Conkotyke tells me I'm not a supporter!
How much do you have to support the club (and in what way?) to become a supporter and not just a fan?
Hehe I can't believe that some people are complaining about this... I haven't been to any other games this season, but if I get some things sorted out first I'd love to come over for the semi finals. Now someone might ask me why don't I come over for a mid-week away game against Colchester instead, but why would I as this is a lot more important (in my opinion)? Where are you living in Spain?
I understand what you mean tynetyke and I wouldn't moan about the part timers as the more the merrier in both the short and long term. However, if you think the reason the extra 6000 supporters that were at the Chelsea game don't go more often is down to logistics or finance, I simply cannot agree with you. Glory/wanting to see the big players is the reason. Unfortunately, we have a core support of roughly only 6,500 fans that go week in week out regardless of how we are doing, the 'real fans' as they called on here
