seriously mate I have no idea why everyone is giving you a hard time- as far as I can see its another website to benefit barnsley fans- who cares if it is or isnt funded by the club- its another resource for us.

keep up the good work
p..s good idea about the soccerettes- owls do a similar one- owlettes- pics like those would be appreciated.

The reason is That 1. He took peoples money and failed to deliver the product that they had paid up front for.
2. He claims to be totally independent from the club yet the chronicle published that he is in fact a club employee (as stated by Simon Davey)
3. He had a go at Red Rain over his reporting of academy matches claiming there was too much negativity and said that what he had seen was totally different, it then appeared to emerge that he hadn't been to the game in question and therefore had seen nothing.
4. He published an article that many considered very biased against Brian Howard in his magazine which coincidentally coincided with Davey dropping him from the first team.

I agree that if it is a TOTALLY independent fan writing a website then great, if it is a website tied to the club in any way then great again but surely we should know the truth so that we can make our minds up about articles and stories posted on there knowing whether it is in fact impartial or not.

5) He couldn't come up with an original name for the pictures of the ladies, so decided to pinch the one Soccer AM have used for years.
Point 5 is ridiculous. Everyone calls it that. Do a google search. By the way chronicle did what they did because they were trying to get at me. Don't tell me you believe everything they say. Does no one like exclusives about the Howard thing and can I not disagree with red rain? Stop being so suspicious. Also think of all the things you wonder about, for example when players go. Do you not think the chron know things and don't publish it? ThAt's what happen like any media outlet. If you are in the middle of media you realize how many lies you are all fed every day, and not by me

happens all the time in the newspaper industry. I am sure you have heard the phrase "never let the facts get in the way of a good story"? That's the reality. Sometimes the truth is too boring in media
I am not. Just saying why it was done. I have never complained about. Just part of the ruff and tumble of the business
Mark......... if the Chronicle lied about you working for the club and they lied about Simon Davey saying you work for the club, how come you and Davey aren't suing the Barnsley Chronicle for libel?
Sueing for libel is an expensive process and unless you have a spare £100,000 you can't do it. It is part and parcel of newspapers. I have seen so many untruths go into print that I take a lot of stuff in the press with a large pinch of salt. I think everyone needs to move past this issue. The site will bring a lot of innovations the official site cannot especially with the site it is tied into so it should be good for a supporter. I don't believe I have done anything but bring good coverage to football in Barnsley but taken a lot of stick because some think they know the facts. Also the chron spend 20 mins at the club during week. Where so you think they get everything - the official site and this site here. http://www.footballbarnsley.co.uk
"some think they know the facts." You could always put them straight Mark. You've been asked at least twice today if you're paid by the club and still haven't answered the question.
I don't think anyone disagrees that a new site can only be a good thing but there's strong resistance on here when people think someone's trying to pull the wool over their eyes. You have the chance to salvage some trust but you'll have to be a lot more up-front than you have been so far, particularly regarding your relationship with the club and its influence on your material. It also doesn't help that some people are still waiting for their refunds and feel they're beingignored by you. Is the cash there for the refunds and, if so, why aren't they being paid?

I have already responded today on refunds. This will be completed by the end of the month. So now I have said it twice today. I have a good relationship with club which is the best way to get information. I do not have to get approval on what I write, it is left to me. The club do not pay me for this site but certainly would be great if they did. There is no wool but I will tell you this - almost every question you want to know about the club newspapers already have the answers. I have given more insight than they ever have. The site is about football. Not religin or politics. Everyone has a different opinion and through the site I suppose I reflect mine. There has to be a balance on how you report things and I think mine is for the club where the chron is against it
"The club do not pay me for this site" Do the club pay you for ANYTHING? And if you have the money to give your customers their refunds why are you unwilling to do so NOW? Why can you not send the money via paypal immediatly instead of waiting till the end of the month?
Firstly don't be so noisy and second I said it would be completed by the end of the month. I have already begun the process.
Each to their own and that But I certainly don't think The Chronicle are against the club. To be honest, I find that opinion very weird.
