The term STRIKER is a label given to an individual, that, being part of a particular team, should, as the name infers strike at goal, thus ensuring a score is achieved, this act, if carried out successfully creates a very good chance that a team can indeed win a football game, sometimes called a match. To answer your earlier question, no, I did not go to Swindon because of work commitments, but I have not missed at home, and as a supporter of some thirty odd years standing, and furthermore, an ex player at higher non league level, I dare say that I am more qualified than you in my assumption that Paul Hayes would not score twenty goals over two seasons.
Hayes http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=30796 He'll come good, first few games he was awsome especially at scunny, the good thing is our league position with our front men yet to hit form.Don't think he'll get 20,may be 15/16
Its a team game, If he sets up goals and we win I dont really care how many he scores. He is a far better striker than Nardiello and is the best we have at the club. I still believe he will score 20 goals this season. Has 5 and should be in double figures now but not been that lucky.
Sorry to sound patronising, but I honestly believe that Paul Hayes is not the answer, he has a basic fear in certain positions i.e one on one with a keeper, and as for his assists, again, this is indicitive of a striker all too willing to thrust responibility onto somebody else, I'm sure you will agree all quality strikers, that incidently score twenty plus a season, are by nature arrogant, self appreciating and egotistical, after all it is the glamour position in a team. Paul Hayes is , I'm sure a top fella, but he definitely lacks a real striker's killer instinct. Tykeman, this division is a quicksand league, it will suck us down if we don't bite the bullet and sign a guy who knows how to finish off a move, when fit I,m whole heartedly convinced, that when fit, Danny Nardiello along with Richards will provide the firepower to lift us out of this nothing league.
And how long do we give Nads to prove his fitness? Decent enough goalscorer, but can't play 20 minutes wihout picking up an injury. Hardly a long term solution.
RE: And how long do we give Nads to prove his fitness? As opposed to Hayes who plays but can't score, we miss Nads, would we miss Hayes if injured?, I think not.
RE: 2 words £150.000.00 sterling, for a striker with 5 goals in a team that lies sixth in the table, a pathetic return, incidently why was Ritchie looking at strikers this week?I know you'll say because of Nardiello's injury, but maybe the boss is losing patience with the shy one.
Who's our best striker to you? Nads better then Hayes?
nah, stats prove that...
Richards better then Hayes?

RE: Who's our best striker to you? Unfortunately we find ourselves in a situation whereas we don't have a real quality striker, Nads is a goal poacher when bothered, Richards is a target man at best, Jarman is raw and deemed too young, old fashioned thinking on the managements part and Hayes is just, well, not a striker. Opportunities in football come and go, well, we missed the boat with Ugarte, a few quid more and someone to sell him on the club, and we could have had a thoroughbred instead of a packmule.
What are your credential for watching football? I haven't got any, I'm **** at it. I'm always looking the wrong way.
