Golbourne in May: "I didn't want to be playing in League One next season because I fought hard to get out of there to the Championship." You sir are a pr1ck.
Maybe he doesn't like being played further up the pitch? Maybe he hasn't settled in the area? Maybe he's had a fall out with someone? Maybe they are giving him a much better salary? Maybe he thinks in 12 months time he will be in a better position with Wolves than he would staying with us? Maybe he's annoyed that he got talked up during his injury as a two million pound player only to be allowed to let his contract dwindle to the last year? Maybe he wants a fresh challenge? It could be any reason above or something completely different.
Maybe his agent's had a word in his ear and told him he could expect to double/treble his salary with a nice fat signing on fee. Maybe he was perstering Flicker on the phone all day on his day off on Wednesday for a move? Maybe he's been distracted for the last two or three weeks? Maybe the club didn't have a lot of choice but have got a decent price for a player who simply wants a move to earn more cash?
If I kicked a ball about for a living, and someone came up to me and said "do you want more money for kicking that ball about?" They would have my attention. Even if a club only offered me £1,000 a week more, that's an extra £150,000 on a 3 year contract. Plus a signing on fee. Show me the money.
